Much ado about Mauritius

by Philip Tetley Jones July 08, 2016

The Indian Ocean island is a little off the beaten track for tourists from this part of the world, but it’s a destination well worth seeking out. And now the arrival of the Shangri-La brand is set to make Mauritius even more appealing.

Located on the east coast of Mauritius in one of the island’s most spectacular bays, the five-star Shangri-La Le Touessrok Resort has three villas and 200 sea-facing guest-rooms and suites. Along with extensive water and land-based activities, it offers guests access to Ilot Mangenie, a private, secluded isle with 3.5km of pristine beach. The resort is also located within five minutes of Ile aux Cerfs, where the 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course designed by Bernhard Langer is located.

Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa will be the second property in the brand’s growing portfolio of extraordinary five-star resorts in the Indian Ocean, joining Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives – one of the world’s leading luxury resorts – and preceding the highly anticipated opening of Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa, Sri Lanka in 2016.
