Cunard’s three queens get together

by Phil Harrison July 08, 2016

In our last issue we wrote about the way Cunard is harking back to the grand age of cruising by bringing together its three monarchs – the Queen Victoria, the Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Elizabeth – for a season of celebrations. Now, as the northern summer approaches, we can see what a success this promotion has been in Britain.

To mark Cunard’s 175th anniversary celebrations, the company arranged for the three cruise ships to gather in the Solent off England’s south coast on 4 May 2015 for an unprecedented procession up the waterway to the port of Southampton. The spectacle was repeated on the Mersey a few weeks later, when hundreds of thousands of spectators gathered to welcome these iconic ships. www.cunardline.com.au
